Dyslexia treatment.

Tell us about ways in which you manage.

This page is your page, so please send us methods, little tricks you have developed, and other ideas you find helpful in dealing with the difficulties that accompany dyslexia. (You may choose to be anonymous.)

Confusing 'b' and 'd'..

Cadbury's ChocolateWhich way round is 'b'? - I use the name 'Cadbury's' (chocolate) to help remember which way 'b' and 'd' go. (L.K., Edinburgh, Scotland).

Which way round is 'b'? - to know b from d I picture the capital letter B and know that the lower case b is the bottom of the letter, and the d is facing the opposite direction. (Terri S, Philadelphia, PA).

'b' and 'd' - A good tip for getting your b's and d's the right way, is to use the word 'bed' and picture yourself lying on it. The 'b' is the headboard and the 'd' is the bit that stops your feet hanging off the end. (H, UK).

I've found it's easier to avoid flipping my letters when writing if I print everything in capital letters. So my lower case letters are simply smaller upper case. (K.M., Cincinnati, Ohio).

A method that you use.

Please send us an email with details of your own technique. Please put 'Dyslexia Adults Link - Hints and Tips' in the title of your email.
